Lombardstown Tecnical School

This school was one of three rural technical schools in Duhallow area and owe their existence to the famous IRA leader Sean Moylan who was Minister for Education in the early 1950’s. The school opened in 1953 and closed in 1967. One of the more famous teachers that taught there was Dan Murray from Macroom who played in two senior football all Ireland finals with Cork in 1966 and 1967.  The school became a local community hall for a number of years before it was bought out and converted to three apartments.
