This is the current home of Adrian Maguire the well-known former jockey and now horse trainer. The Maguire family purchased the almost derelict property in c 2001 and restored the old house as can be seen in the old and current photos. The front porch was removed, the entrance door centered and a large extension added to the rear. The property was formerly the home of Tim Murphy who was a very active member of Lombardstown Company of the volunteers during the War Of Independence and served on the Mallow Batallion Column. In later life he owned and operated a steam powered threshing unit along with other machinery. The property was part of O Callaghans territory confiscated after Cromwell and was sold to the Newmans of Newberry Manor in Drommahane. A Silver C. Olicer of Castleoliver near Kilfinane married one of the Newmans and became the Landlord. A Jeremiah O Callaghan leased this holding from Oliver and held it for Griffiths Valuation. It then passed to Thomas Bolster and in c.1880 it came into the possession of William Murphy. In or about 1892 Silver C. Oliver deceased and Ellen Grant became the landlady. The Murphys bought out their tenancy in C 1915 and lived there until Timothy moved out in early 1980’s. The house lay idle and became almost derelict by 2001 when purchased, restored and extended by the Maguire family.
