The entrance laneway to the quarry workers houses

Groups audience:

The Lane is now a cul-de-sac but once formed an arc with exit and entrance onto the main road. It once contained a forge and nine dwelling houses for the quarry workers. Eight terraced houses for the quarry workers. Four of them were single-storied and four two-stories, they stood to the E. of the forge, to which they were attached. The Blacksmith's house was attached to the forge on the W.side. Only the forge remains.
