Lt. Ned Waters Glashabee

Lt. Ned Waters Glashabee

Ned Waters was captured in the Nadd roundup which was about 10 miles away on 10th March 1921 and was shot when lined up outside the door of the house where he was captured. His father had to identify the body in the Military Hospital Morgue in Cork and sign a statement to that effect. On Waters farm in a field behind their dwelling, a Rolls Royce armoured British Army personnel carrier was buried which was dug up in the 1960’s and restored. It is now located in the North of Ireland. Both of Ned’s brothers were also involved in the struggle for Independence. The Waters residence is demolished but a stone wall and a plaque mark the location.
