The Rectory - P61, Parson's Hill, Ardmore

Groups audience:

Occupied by the Rothwell family until 1914 and from 1914-1921 by the Rennisons.
Canon Rothwell retired to the high road but his retirement did not last too long as he died in 1915 and is buried in the adjacent COI graveyard.
The Rev. WIlliam Rennison succeeded Canon Rothwell from 1914-1921 when he was transferred to Portlaw. He died young aged 52 and is buried in Ardmore graveyard.
The rectory is potentially built on the site of the towerhouse known as Ardmore Castle, site of a siege & massacre in 1642
