Groups audience: 

Occupied by the Fitzgerald family in 1911, with two boarders. Head of family was Bridget Fitzgerald (47) and she had three sons John (13), Michael (7) & Patrick (5) and one daughter Hannah, aged 9. Bridget is listed as a farmer. Mary Quain (66) and Mary Murray (13) were both lodgers in 1911. The Fitzgerald brothers played a key role Irish Volunteer activity in Ardmore as they got older. The Pier in Ardmore was built around this time, started in 1910. It is considered that many of the boarders (lodgers) in the village at the time were construction workers involved in the building of the pier.  The house had 2-4 rooms and 4 front windows. To the rear it also had a stables and piggery.
